An Immigration Practitioner’s Guide to Challenging Delays in Home Office Decision Making

Introduction

Recent years have seen an increasing number of applications before the Home Office taking months, if not years, to be concluded.

Protection cases are most gravely affected, with the average waiting being approximately 20 months, but we see lengthy delays in family applications, delays in issuing certificates of sponsorship and in decisions on nationality matters.

Recent changes to the immigration system in family and business routes have added to those delays and the protection and trafficking teams are now years behind schedule.

This new virtual classroom seminar will briefly look at the reasons behind the delays and will offer guidance on how to try to avoid adding to the delay.
