Local Authority Pre-Proceedings Procedures - A Practical Guide for Family Lawyers
Introduction
Where the local authority has concerns about the care children are receiving, attempts will be made to avoid care proceedings.
The pre-proceedings Public Law Outline (PLO) process enables local authorities to assess concerns regarding a child’s welfare before issuing a court application for a care or supervision order.
Families can work with children’s services as part of these procedures, within which any identified issues are assessed and, where possible, addressed.
This virtual classroom seminar will explore how this process works in practice, and provide insight into and highlight areas of good practice.
