Introduction

This virtual classroom seminar considers the topics of transparency and disclosure in private children law cases.

Transparency is a buzzword and there have been pilots and protocols but the jurisprudence is complicated and often misunderstood. This live session intends to try to simplify it into what you need for most cases.

Disclosure is always important. Any specialist practitioner will know how often statutory services disclosure is responsible for delays in cases and how the evidence available, especially from neutral third parties, rather than partisan parents, can have such a central effect upon the outcome of a case.

Clients struggle with what they can show to whom both before and after proceedings have finished, and again misunderstanding is common.

This live session aims to hit the main issues in this area, with practice points in parallel and tips for evidence gathering. The aim is to ensure that you leave with a greater level of confidence in the area of disclosure, and with some good ideas about what might assist in your cases and a solid grounding in the basics of transparency and where the law sits now.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • Transparency
    • A more simple guide to the statutory guidance, procedure rules and caselaw - useful for most cases running through the Family Court and allowing digestible and comprehensible advice to clients.
