Adoption Law - Process & Procedure Explored
Introduction
Adoption law was historically introduced to provide legal remedies to deal with infants relinquished by their mothers to avoid the stigma of illegitimacy. However, the use of adoption orders has evolved to provide permanency to children where serious child protection issues arise and step parent adoption.
This aim of this virtual classroom seminar is to provide an outline of the legal process, law, and procedure involved following a placement order through to the making of an adoption order and beyond.
A review of the caselaw including developments in respect of post adoption contact will be included.
